Most is settled. Where is the last excitement to find in European football?
English Bronze: Manchester City or Arsenal?
Manchester City are one point ahead and miss playing no. 10 Bolton away (.35/.25/.40). Arsenal, who has scored an impressive 70 goals so far, miss no. 8 Fulham away (.25/.35/.40).
English relegation: A lottery?
There is still questions about two of the relegation places. Wigan, Blackpool (74 goals against) and Birmingham each have 39 points, while Blackburn and Wolverhampton with 40 points each cannot feel safe.
Sunday at 17 Blackpool play away against Manchester United in one - on paper - impossible battle. No. 15 and no. 16 meet each other (and probably both could get away with a tie): Wolverhampton v Blackburn (.45/.20/.35). Wigan is playing out against Stoke (.40/.30/.30) while Birmingham is playing out against no. 5 Tottenham, who must fight to keep Liverpool below them (.45/.35/.20).
Spanish relegation: Zaragoza or?
There is still question marks on one relegation place. Currently Zaragoza is located below the line, but a win can in theory move them five places up. They lack Levante away (.45/.25/.30).
Getafe and Deportivo la Coruna (13 draws) has just one point more than Zaragoza. The former has no 14 Real Sociedad (only 2 draws!) away (.50/.15/.35) and the latter has no 3 Valencia home (.30/.25/.45). But what is hardest: a top team that has very little to play for, or a bottom team which preferably should not lose?
Side by side with Real Sociedad and Osasuna are Mallorca.They play, respectively. against no. 4 Villarreal, who does not have anything but honor to play for, and no. 7 Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, needing to win to secure European football next year.
The Spaniards already playing tonight, Saturday.
French bronze (and Champions League qualification): Lyon or Paris?
Lyon is two points ahead and two rounds are left. Perhaps the fight will already look settled tonight when Paris SG has played no 1 Lille (20 victories, only 4 defeats and 63 goals scored) (0.30/0.35/.35)?
Turkey: Fenerbahçe or Trabzonspor as champions?
Before the last round the two teams are in front with 79 points each. Fenerbahçe will be champions if both teams get an equal number of points in their last matches because they are best in internal showdowns - both home victories but respectively 3-2 and 2-0.
Both finishes with away games Sunday at 19. Fenerbahce v no. 15 Sivasspor (.20/.25/.55) and Trabzonspor v no. 8 Karabukspor (.25/.20/.55). So it is going to be Fenerbahçe? I do not follow Turkish football, so if you do, you may make a better assessment in the comments.
Danish Bronze: Brondby IF or FC Midtjylland?
Second place is just a theoretical possibility and bronze medals are cosmetics on top of the European League qualifying. As I see the situation it is completely open. Maybe Brondby has a marginally easier program because Randers FC (14 unresolved) might be a little tricky opponent to FC Midtjylland.
Danish relegation: Randers FC or Lyngby?
Lyngby's fans are now a little sad, when they lost yesterday to Brondby. It was strange - it's not the top teams they must focus on taking points from. Lyngby (52 goals against) must now aim to win over Silkeborg IF (13 draws) on Wednesday (.45/.35/.20) - but they should have done the job before the third last round.
Randers FC (14 draws) has got a difficult game against No. 4 FC Midtjylland but finish against Esbjerg fB placed last.
